About the Role
We are seeking a detail-oriented and technically proficient Technical Writer to join our software development team on a contract basis. You will be responsible for creating clear, concise, and user-friendly documentation that supports our developers, product managers, and end users. This includes API documentation, user guides, system architecture overviews, and internal technical manuals.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with developers, product managers, and QA teams to gather technical information.
- Write and maintain high-quality documentation for APIs, SDKs, system architecture, and user workflows.
- Translate complex technical concepts into clear, accessible content for both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Create diagrams, flowcharts, and visuals to support documentation.
- Ensure consistency in tone, structure, and formatting across all documentation.
- Review and edit existing documentation for accuracy, clarity, and completeness.
- Manage documentation repositories (e.g., GitHub, Confluence, Notion).
Requirements
- Proven experience as a technical writer in a software development environment.
- Strong understanding of software development processes, APIs, and cloud-based systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency with documentation tools such as Markdown, Git, Swagger/OpenAPI, and diagramming tools (e.g., Lucidchart, Draw.io).
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple documentation tasks in a fast-paced environment.
Nice to Have
- Experience with developer-focused platforms or SaaS products.
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.
- Basic understanding of programming languages (e.g., JavaScript, Python, or similar).
- Experience working with remote or distributed teams.
